Our projects

Delivered across Australia.

From feasibility to commissioning, these are some of the projects we have been proud to work on. Each one presented its own challenges — and its own lessons.

A track record built project by project.

Over a decade, Ridout Holdings has contributed to more than 12 renewable energy projects across most states and territories. The case studies below represent a cross-section of that work — different technologies, different feedstocks, different clients, and different parts of the country. In each case, our role was to bring independent expertise and practical experience to bear on the specific challenges of the project.

Project details have been prepared with client consent. Some commercially sensitive figures have been presented as ranges or omitted at client request.

The challenge

The client operated an ageing cogeneration system that was undersized for the mill's current crushing capacity and unable to export surplus electricity to the grid. The challenge was to design an upgrade that could be staged around the crushing season, minimising disruption to core operations while significantly increasing electrical output.

Our role

Ridout Holdings led the feasibility study and technology selection process, evaluating three boiler and turbine configurations before recommending a high-pressure steam system that offered the best balance of capital cost, efficiency, and operational flexibility. We then provided owner's engineer services during construction and commissioning.

Outcome

The upgraded facility now exports up to 8 MW to the grid during the crushing season, generating significant revenue for the cooperative and reducing the mill's net energy costs by approximately 40%.
